    My letter to Ameritech:

    This should explain it all.

Screw the contract - If I move I am canceling and they could soo me - I do not care.

I ordered Ameritech ADSL service and had it installed 4 weeks ago. It has been down for 3 of those weeks. It was finally brought up Tues of this week and it has gone down everyday since then. Actually as I write this letter my Ameritech ADSL service is completely down. I ordered and was getting 1.5 down 256k up. While speed testing the line during one of my short periods of up time, I was getting speeds of 22k down and 222k up. No this is not a typo - 22k down is correct. Sometimes I got 1.2 down.

I had a Rhythms 768X768 line for the past two years and IT NEVEWR WENT DOWN and my speed tests were in the 700 to 768k range. I am paying you people around 200.00 a month for this service and to say it is sub-par would be being nice. I have had 6 visits by Ameritech tech people and nobody has been able to solve my problem. It is NOT MY COMPUTER - currently I am using the Rhythms line and guess what?? It is still up and running 100% - with not one issue.

I don't know what needs to be changed at Ameritech but something needs to be changed. Because I can not suggest your product to anyone that needs internet access. This is a business account, at this point I am considering moving to a area that is covered by Covad to get reliable SDSL service - because I am not getting it from Ameritech.

    UPDATE:

Now I can not get into the router menu - seems that they shut off my account. Snyc is not a problem for the past few hours. I went outside and ran the ADSL line on its own pair into the house. Now it sync's but no service.

    Great service. LMAO
